The caricature depicts Napoleon caught in a spring trap, which has broken his leg. He surrenders his sword to John Bull, who is dressed as a gardener. On the opposite side of the Channel is the Continent which have already been engaged by Napoleon: „Holland plunder’d“, „Italy plunder’d“, Swisserland enslaved“ and „France ruin’d“.
