Very rare, amusing description, in Portuguese, of an organized hunt for a monster, which appeared to the terrified hunters as a conglomeration of prehistoric brutes. The narrative contains a very interesting description of some of the lonely districts of Chile, where some Spanish travellers were enticed to the monster’s cave by a strange light, which, they subsequently discovered, emanated from the animal’s head.
