Very rare beautiful sculptures of the famous characters of Miguel de Cervantes‘ work: Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. The bronze sculptures of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza offer a captivating portrayal of the iconic literary duo from Miguel de Cervantes‘ masterpiece. Don Quixote is depicted standing with a dignified posture, holding a book in his left hand (the chivalry novel „Amadís de Gaula“), symbolizing his commitment to chivalric ideals and his unwavering pursuit of knightly adventures. His right hand grasps the pole of a glass lantern, perhaps representing his quest for enlightenment and truth, as he gazes steadfastly ahead with determination.

On the other side, Sancho Panza is depicted with a more relaxed stance, his arm adorned with a large bag, indicating his role as Don Quixote’s loyal squire and bearer of provisions on their journey. In his other hand, he holds a duck, a humorous nod to his humble origins and rustic nature. Below his arm, a small animal, likely a pig or a small boar, adds a touch of rustic charm and whimsy to the scene.

Together, the sculptures capture the essence of the story of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza’s timeless companionship and the juxtaposition of their personalities: Don Quixote, the idealistic dreamer, and Sancho Panza, the pragmatic realist. The attention to detail in the bronze casting brings these beloved literary characters to life in a beautiful manner.
