This caricature shows Councillor of State Regnaud de Saint-Jean-d’Angély sitting on his horse as it runs away from his troops, fleeing Paris from the Barrière Clichy, at the approach of the allied forces on 30 March 1814. A hanging rope ultimately will bring him to fall.
