VASCONI, Filippo
(1688 – 1730)

Design of a columned church facade with a large window.

Sheet: 345 x 200 mm; the sheet consists of three joined seperate sheets; prepatory stencil, pen, brown ink and grey wash.

Verso with a contemporary gift notation and attribution to Vasconi in a  German hand:
„Ein grosses Fenster zu einer Kirch von H. Vasconi inventirt u. geschenkt. Man kan es auch zu einem Tabernacul applicieren.“

Besides the two designs in our inventory, we were able to locate only one other drawing which can  be attributed without doubt to Vasconi. It is the first draft in an album by Filippo Juvarra, today in the  Metropolitan Museum of Art. – Very rare
